Grail Family Services is thankful to all of the volunteers in our Volunteer/Leadership Program who are an integral part of making it possible for us to provide quality services to East San José residents. GFS recruits volunteers from both outside the community and from residents attending GFS programs. GFS encourages our clients to get involved in our volunteer program as a way to strengthen the organization, give back to their community, and build their self-esteem.

The goals of this program are:

  • To develop a sense of community ownership
  • To increase our scope and quality of service through the use of volunteers
  • To provide opportunities for people to practice and learn new skills through volunteering

"I thank [GFS] for giving me the opportunity to continue developing my skills, and for allowing me to learn to communicate with others."
- Acela, GFS volunteer
