GFS offers a Spanish language Parent Education Program for parents with children ages birth through five. The Parent Education Program bases its instruction in part on the Nurturing Parent Education program. Topics covered in the class include communication skills, self-esteem, child development, anger management, and positive discipline techniques. The Parent Education Program provides parents with practical skills and resources to build and strengthen healthy bonds with their children.

This program is offered on-site.

The goals of the program are:

  • To increase parents' appropriate expectations for their children's development
  • To increase parents' knowledge and practice of appropriate discipline techniques
  • To increase parents' positive communication skills
  • To increase bonds between parents and their children
  • To increase parents' participation in their children' s learning experiences
